VIDEO: Damascus-Homs highway officially re-opened for the first time in 5 years

On 15th of May, the Syrian authorities have re-opened the international highway for the public transportation after the rehabilitation of the northern entrance of Damascus between the Abbasid Garage and Baghdad bridge for a length of 17 km.
The Syrian news agency SANA published pictures of the international motorway showing the return of normal traffic for the first time in years.

Activists on social media also posted a video of the international autostrad after putting it in service.

After the recent military operation of the Syrian army in the eastern Ghouta, which ended with the full exit of the militants from the area, the Syrian government reopened the international road after its reconstruction.
