US-led Coalition hits ISIS stronghold in east Syria (Video)

Video footage has been released showing the moment that a strike by US-led Coalition airpower slammed into an ISIS position in southeast Syria.

The airstrike was reportedly conducted in the ISIS-controlled town of Al-Shafah, located on the eastern shore of the Euphrates River in Syria’s Deir ez-Zour province.

Al-Shafah currently serves as one of the three remaining strongholds of the terrorist group in Syria, the others being Hajin and Al-Susa.

Which nation’s air force within the US-led Coalition conducted the attack is unknown. However, generally only the US Air Force and Iraqi Air Force release footage of their airstrikes in Syria.

On Tuesday, the Iraqi Air Force conducted a series of strikes against ISIS positions and bases in eastern Syria, reportedly killing more than forty terrorists as a result. Whether or not the strike shown in the video above is related to the Iraqi operation is unknown.
