Uber competition. Musk announces the date of the unveiling of Tesla’s highly anticipated self-driving car “Robottaxi”

Elon Musk announced last Friday on the X platform that Tesla will unveil its long-promised self-driving car “Robottaxi” on August 8.

The announcement came on the same day Reuters reported that the company had scrapped plans to manufacture an affordable electric car in the range of $25,000.

According to the report, Musk told company employees that instead of manufacturing an electric car for sale on a large scale, he wanted to focus entirely on a self-driving car that would surpass other cars that currently exist.

Musk has long floated the possibility of making a self-driving Tesla car and even offered a fully covered car during last year’s 2023 event, in which he unveiled the company’s third master plan, according to The Verge.
