The Syrian presidency announced in a statement that the wife of the Syrian president was infected with leukemia

After presenting with several symptoms and clinical signs and following a comprehensive series of medical tests and examinations, The First Lady Asma al-Assad has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Consequently, The First Lady will adhere to a specialised treatment protocol that includes stringent infection prevention measures and appropriate social distancing.

The First Lady will temporarily withdraw from all direct engagements as part of her treatment plan. Throughout this phase, she remains determined and committed, supported by her strong will and faith in God.
