Turkish military bombards SDF in eastern Aleppo

The Anadolu news agency reported on Sunday (October 28th) that Turkish military bombed positions of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG-YPJ) on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River in northern Syria.

The agency said the bombing targeted the area of ‘Zawar Maghar’ to the west of ‘Ain al-Arab’ in northern Syria and was aimed at preventing “terrorist acts”.

Turkey carried out an offensive against the Kurds in the Syrian region of Afrin earlier this year and has repeatedly said it would target the protection forces of the Kurdish people east of the Euphrates River.

In previous statement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country would maintain its presence in Syria until achieving political and geographical unity there.
