Once S-300 missiles arrived in Syria, US aircraft starts spy task on Humaimem airbase
Russia has delivered S-300 missiles system to Syria, two weeks after a Russian reconnaissance aircraft was shot down in the country.
“The plane with 64-14848 tail number took off from the Suda Bay air base, located on the island of Crete, at 10 am Moscow time.”
Russian media agency of “Interfax-AVN“, referred the monitoring data to Western aviation resources.
“In four hours, the RC-135V made about ten flights along the Syrian coast and approached 60 km from Hmeimim airbase.”
The plane is one of the main means of electronic reconnaissance in the US Air Force. It is used to combat enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
“As for the tasks performed by the aircraft near the Russian base, there are no special mysteries. the Syria’s delivery of the S-300 missiles caused great concern at the Pentagon.” The interfax reported.
The Boeing RC-135 is a family of large reconnaissance aircraft built by Boeing and modified by a number of companies, used by the United States Air Force and Royal Air Force to support theater and national level intelligence consumers with near real-time on-scene collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities.
