The Syrian President’s page on Facebook said that, “on her first working day after undergoing surgery last Sunday, Mrs. Asma al-Assad received a number of “martyrs’ families”.

The Syrian Presidency described these families as “great families, each of whom presented three of its sons martyrs for the homeland. Among them are wounded and soldiers still fighting on the front lines”.

A few days ago, Mrs. Asma al-Assad underwent successful surgery for breast cancer at the military hospital in Damascus.

Worth to note that Syria launched in early October, “the national campaign to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer”.
