MAP: Syrian military foils militants infiltration attempt in northwest Daraa

Rebel factions operating in the northwestern countryside of Daraa province, launched surprise offensive targeting the government troops in Jaba hamlet and Jaba hills.
The defensive units of the Syrian Army were capable to spot the rebel’s movements coming from the militants-held area of “Um batneh” village towards “Jaba” which is under government control.
Military source said – on Monday – that the militants infiltration attempt was repelled following clashes and artillery bombarding over the rebel groups, that were trying to put first foothold in the area.
The source added that, “Terrorist groups were unable to gain ground as dozens of them killed and injured while others retreated“.
