BREAKING: Syrian warplane shot down by US-backed fighters

A Syrian MIG-21 fighter jet was shot down by a rebel group in the Syrian Desert as the government Army continue to expand its control along the Jordanian borders.

The group, called Osoud al-Sharqiyah, said on its social media account that the jet was bombing positions for the US-backed fighters when it was shot down in the eastern countryside of As-Suwayda.

According to the same group, the pilot survived the crash and is now being chased by the rebels.
