IDF Says 18 Reservists Were Killed Or Wounded In Clashes With Hezbollah

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said on October 27 that four reservists were killed and 14 others were wounded during clashes with Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon a day earlier.

The slain troops were all serving in the ranks of the Alon Brigade’s 8207th Battalion. They were identified by the IDF as Captain Rabbi Avraham Yosef Goldberg, Master Sergeant Gilad Elmaliach, Captain Amit Chayut and Major Eliav Amram Abitbol.

Goldberg was the rabbi of the 8207th Battalion, Chayut was a platoon commander, and Abitbol was a deputy company commander.

Among the 14 troops wounded in the same clashes, five were listed in serious condition, according to the IDF, which also alleged three fighters of Hezbollah were killed.

Hezbollah announced 22 operations on October 26. The operations varied from rocket and drone attacks to strikes against tanks and troop gatherings.

In addition, the group’s Military Media released videos showing three recent drone and missile strikes that targeted gatherings of the IDF near the settlements of Yaara and Shomira, as well as in the Kfar Giladi quarry near the Lebanese border.
