Israeli aircraft targeted the Iranian consulate building in Damascus last Monday, causing major destruction there and in neighboring buildings, and killing everyone inside the building.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the killing of two brigadier generals in its ranks (Brigadier Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi), and 5 officers accompanying them.
The Iranian leader stressed that “Israel will be punished for its crimes,” saying: “We will make them regret this crime and others.” Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi also stressed that “this cowardly crime will definitely not remain without a response.”
