Syrian state media reported that Israeli warplanes carried out multiple air strikes on 9 November in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib, injuring several soldiers and causing material damage.

“At around 00:45 after midnight, the Israeli army launched an air aggression from the direction of southeast Aleppo, targeting a number of sites in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib,” a military source told SANA news agency.

The report added that the attack had “resulted in the injury of a number of soldiers and some material losses” without providing further details.

Since the beginning of the US-led covert war on Syria in 2011, Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes in the country.

The strikes have targeted Syrian army troops fighting against western-backed Al-Qaeda groups, such as the Nusra Front, and targeted weapons shipments destined for Syria’s ally in Lebanon, Hezbollah.

The Israeli military has intensified its strikes on Syria since it launched its war on Hezbollah and Lebanon and on Hamas and Gaza in October last year.
