After ATACMS .. Biden makes second military decision against Russia in his final days

US President Joe Biden has agreed to supply Ukraine with anti-personnel landmines, backing away from his own policy on this controversial type of weapon, the Washington Post reported.

This came after Biden decided to allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles (known as ATACMS) to hit the Russian depth.

One official told the newspaper that this type of anti-personnel ground mine is “non-permanent,” meaning mines destroy themselves or lose battery charge, making them inactive, reducing the risk to civilians.

The Washington Post said the move would strengthen Kiev’s defenses against advancing Russian forces, but drew criticism from arms control groups.
