Israel tells US it will deliver ‘forceful response’ to Hezbollah strike on base

Defence Minister Yoav Gallant told his US counterpart Lloyd Austin that Israel would deliver a strong response to Hezbollah after Hezbollah struck an Israeli army base killing four soldiers injuring at least 70 soldiers.

Gallant spoke to Austin overnight and “highlighted the severity of the attack and the forceful response that would be taken against Hezbollah“, the minister’s office said in a statement.

A kamikaze drone has caused the explosion fired from Lebanon by Hezbollah forces. Some reports suggest that 67 soldiers were injured in the attack.
