The Secret Service accompanying Trump responded by opening fire towards the source of the gunfire , CNN said .

CNN also citing sources that  A semi-automatic rifle, a backpack, and a camera were found at the scene.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity, his campaign said in a statement on Sunday.
