Hezbollah confirms martyrdom of Fuad Shukr in Israeli airstrike in Beirut

Hezbollah has officially confirmed the martyrdom of one of its top commanders in an Israeli airstrike on a Beirut neighborhood on July 30.

Fuad Shukr, a senior figure with the Lebanese resistance movement, was assassinated when an Israeli attack drone fired three missiles at the area around Hezbollah’s Shoura Council in the Haret Hreik neighborhood.

Lebanon’s media reported the official confirmation on Wednesday.

Hezbollah issued a statement following the confirmation.

The killing of Shukr was carried out hours before another assassination operation. Only this time, the target was Ismail Haniyeh and the location was Iran’s capital, Tehran.

The chief of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas was assassinated during the early hours of Wednesday.

He had come to Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Masoud Pezeshkian.
