US Army Says It Destroyed Five Yemeni Missile Launchers In Yemen

United States Central Command (CENTCOM) forces destroyed five missiles of the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in separate strikes on Yemen within 48 hours, the command announced in two separate statements.

According to the command, three missiles on launchers were targeted in Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen on July 23 and two more were hit on July 24.

“It was determined these weapons presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region,” CENTCOM said. “These actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure.”

The command didn’t provide any details on the type of the targeted missiles or reveal when and where exactly they were struck.

The strikes came less than a week after a Houthi suicide drone struck the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, killing a man and wounding at least eight others. Israel responded by launching its first ever attack on Yemen. Israeli strikes hit the Houthi-held Res Sea port of al-Hodeida.

Six people were killed and over 80 others were wounded. The Houthis vowed to strike back.
