US fighter jets allegedly scrambled to intercept Russian nuclear bombers that flew over Alaskan airspace.
US and Russian warplanes came face to face in the sky on Thursday after two Tu-95MS nuclear bombers were flying over the Bering Sea, near Alaska’s western coast.
Footage published by the Russian Defense Ministry shows a warplane from the Alaska Air National Guard marked with the letters AK and the number 304 on its tail fin.
A Russian escort Su-30SM fighter jet is also pictured in the video.
Russian Tu-95MS missile launchers conducted a flight off the west coast of Alaska, the Defense Ministry said.
