Yemeni forces launch ASBM missile attack targeting US Destroyer and Ships : US Military

The US military said on Tuesday that it had destroyed an inbound anti-ship ballistic missile over the Gulf of Aden that was launched by Iranian-backed Houthis and likely targeting the MV Yorktown.

” USS Mason (DDG 87) and United States Central Command (CENTCOM) forces successfully engaged and destroyed one inbound anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) launched by Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists from Yemen over the Gulf of Aden” (CENTCOM) said on X .

“The ASBM was likely targeting the MV Yorktown, a U.S.-flagged, U.S.-owned vessel being escorted by a U.S. warship USS Laboon (DDG 58) and USS Mason (DDG 87)” it Added .

US Central Command aslo said on the social media site X that there were no injuries or damage reported to US, coalition or commercial ships in the incident.

Houthi forces in Yemen have launched rockets and drones at British, US and Israeli ships, in their latest campaign of attacks on shipping in support of Palestinians in the Gaza war.
