Yemeni (ASBM) Missiles attack US MV Yorktown Ship in Red Sea : US Command

A coalition vessel successfully engaged one anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) launched from the  Houthi  areas in Yemen over the Gulf of Aden, the US Central Command (USCENTCOM) said on Thursday.

“The ASBM was likely targeting the MV Yorktown, a US-flagged, owned, and operated vessel with 18 US and four Greek crew members,” USCENTCOM said in a statement.

“There were no injuries or damage reported by US, coalition, or commercial ships,” it added.

Separately, US CENTCOM said it “successfully engaged and destroyed four airborne unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) over Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen”.

The ASBM and UAVs presented an imminent threat to US, coalition, and merchant vessels in the region, it said

Yesterday , The Yemeni armed forces announced the targeting of a US warship, an Israeli ship and an American ship in the Gulf of Aden with ballistic missiles and drones

The Yemeni Armed Forces are continuing to take further military actions against all hostile targets in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean, in defense of beloved Yemen and in confirmation of the position of support for the oppressed Palestinian people
