Russian forces destroy militant stronghold in Syria’s Homs Governorate

The Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed a militant hideout in hard-to-access areas of the Al-Amur mountain ridge in Syria’s Homs Governorate, Major General Yury Popov, Deputy Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Parties in Syria, said.

“The Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed one hideout of militants who came out of the Et-Tanf zone and took refuge in hard-to-access areas of the Al-Amur mountain ridge in Syria’s Homs Governorate,” Popov said.

According to him, the drones of the pro-US anti-terrorist coalition in Syria violated the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019 five times in the past 24 hours.

In addition, the Jabhat al-Nusra and the Turkistan Islamic Party (outlawed in Russia) shelled the positions of the Syrian government forces four times. Also, a member of the Syrian military was injured as a result of sniper fire from terrorists in the Latakia Governorat.
