Messi leads Inter Miami to victory over Nashville (video)

Argentine star Lionel Messi scored twice from Inter Miami’s hat-trick against Nashville (3-1), allowing his team to retain the top spot in the East of Major League Soccer.

Fifth-placed 14th Nashville opened the scoring two minutes after the kick-off whistle with friendly fire after Argentine defender Franco Negri accidentally diverted the ball into his team’s goal.

Inter Miami have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 11 games, and things could have been worse when Nashville striker Josh Power struck the crossbar three minutes later

Miami advanced with a goal from a former Barcelona player also Sergio Busquets, who followed Messi’s corner with his head into the net (39), to put the latter his team safely by scoring his second personal goal in the match and Miami’s third from the penalty spot (81)
