Turkey to build new headquarters rival the Pentagon

A project to build a new military headquarters of Turkey Department of Defense is underway in Ankara which will rival the US HQ the Pentagon, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said on Tuesday.
“There’s the Star and Crescent (Ayyıldız) Project. We’ve made a building that will rival the Pentagon,” news site Defence and Technology quoted Akar as saying.
“We’ve received directives from the president (Recep Tayyip Erdogan) and he has told us to continue. We will meet the project team in the coming days and hopefully bring it forward,” he said.
Turkey general staff headquarters are currently located in Ankara’s Çankaya district, the seat of many government buildings including parliament.
