Stab in the Back: Ecuador revoked decision to grant citizenship to WikiLeaks founder Assange – Foreign Ministry

Ecuador’s authorities revoked their decision to grant Ecuadorian citizenship to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ecuador Jose Valencia said during a conference on Thursday.
“The decision to grant Ecuadorian citizenship to Assange was suspended due to various violations ” he stated.
Early on, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was removed from the Ecuadorian embassy, bringing to an end his 7-year long stay in the building and his asylum status.
Wikileaks claimed on Friday that Ecuador had plans to expel the Wikleaks founder “in a matter of hours to days.”
