Breaking: Trump signs order recognizing Occupied Golan Heights as Israel Territory

US President Donald Trump on Monday formally signed a presidential proclamation recognizing Israeli sovereignty over Israel-occupied Golan Heights.
In a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said: “We do not want to see another attack like the one suffered this morning north of Tel Aviv,” adding: “Our relationship is powerful.” Trump then said: “We will confront the poison of anti-Semitism.”
Netanyahu called Trump’s decision to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights “historic justice” and a “diplomatic victory,” saying that “Israel won the Golan Heights in a just war of defense.”
Israel seized much of the Golan Heights from Syria during the 1967 Six-Day War and then effectively annexed it in 1981, a move that was never recognised by the international community.
