Zinedine Zidane said he is “very happy to be home” after returning as Real Madrid manager just 10 months after leaving the Spanish giants.
“It’s a very special day for everyone and I’m delighted to be back home”, Zidan declared in a special press conference in Madrid.
The Frenchman replaces Santiago Solari, who was sacked after less than five months in charge.
Former Real midfielder Zidane, 46, who left in May after leading the club to a third straight Champions League trophy, has agreed to take over until 2022.
During his five-year stint as a Real Madrid player, Zidane lifted one European Cup, Intercontinental Cup, UEFA Super Cupand LaLiga title apiece and two Spanish Super Cups.
Real Madrid now is currently placed the third in La Liga with the top three teams qualifying automatically to next season’s group phase.
