Russia tests new strategic weapon

Russia has almost finished testing a new combat machine capable of carrying nuclear weapons. Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu told the Russian President Vladimir Putin that the main tests of the robotic combat “Poseidon”  submarine had been completed.

Poseidon submarine is a strategic weapon because it can carry nuclear weapons, it resembles a torpedo and can move underwater very quickly.

President Putin met with Russian defense and foreign ministers on Saturday to review what Russia could do in response to US withdrawal from nuclear arms control treaty with Russia that would ban them from acquiring medium- and short-range tactical missiles with a range of more than 500 kilometers.
