Turkish Troops, Allied Militants Suffer Casualties in Kurdish Attacks in Afrin

Over 10 Turkish army soldiers and Ankara-backed militants have been killed in Kurdish militia attacks in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo during the last week, a Kurdish media outlet reported on Sunday.

The Kurdish-language Hawar news reported that 2 bombs, planted by the Kurdish militias in the Turkish army vehicles, broke out in al-Maqla’a area in Tarandah neighborhood in the town of Afrin, killing 4 Turkish soldiers and injuring 3 more.

It further said that the Kurdish gunmen attacked one of the bases of Ankara-backed Ahrar al-Sharqiyah in the village of Qastal Khazriya in Bolboleh region, killing two militants.

The report added that a Turkish army vehicle was targeted along a road to Mobata region that left a soldier dead, adding that the Kurds launched another attack on a military vehicle of Ankara forces along a road to Rajou region, killing two more Turkish soldiers.

Hawar news had also reported on Thursday that the Kurdish forces attacked one of the strongholds of Firqat al-Hamzeh terrorist group in the village of Kimara in Shirawa region, killing 4 of the militants and wounding 3 others after severe clashes.

Based on the report, the Kurdish forces also targeted a military vehicle of Fayalq al-Sham terrorist group in the village of Kafr Nabu in Shirawa, smashing the car and killing and wounding 5 Turkey-backed militants.

Also, during the Kurds’ operations against a military vehicle of Ahrar al-Sharqiyeh on the road linking to the village of Qazawiyeh in Shirawa, the vehicle was fully destroyed, 4 terrorists were killed and 2 others were wounded.
