Putin grants former RT correspondent in Syria a medal of honor

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree granting the former RT correspondent “Khaled Khatib” who was killed in Syria, the medal of courage.

the award was given “in appreciation of his personal bravery and courage while performing his professional duty”

Khaled al-Khatib (1992 – 2017) died in July last year in the Syrian province of Homs when the crew of the RT channel was bombarded by militants of ISIS terrorist organization. The driver and the photographer were injured in the incident.
The RT network decided to create an annual international prize for journalists named as “Khaled al-Khatib” in his honor.
