Map Update: Syrian Army initiates military operation in west Salamiyah countryside

The Syrian government forces began, early morning, a wide-scale military operation against al-Nusra Front terror group and other affiliated factions stationed in west Salamiyah countryside of east Hama province.

A military source confirmed to MURASELON that army units – supported by heavy Syrian and Russian airstrikes – advanced in to axes; Qantara town where the troops marched on from Tal Darra and Taqsis, the second is Tal Omari- Qantarat.

Substantial progress has been made in al-Salim and other neaby villages, the same source added.

Meanwhile, the Syrian forces positioned in Taqsis town targeted militants’ positions in Tal Qantara town and hilltop, destroyed a tank and killed several jihadi elements.

In the same context, reinforcements sent by terror groups in Talbiseh to the frontlines were successfully targeted by the Army’s fighter jets and attack helicopters.

Recently, several towns and villages of the southern countryside of Hama have reconciled with the Syrian government by mediation of the Russian Reconciliation Center whereby scores of militants had their status settled after Army units took over the reconciled villages.
