The so-called Islamic State (ISIS) launched a large-scale offensive against the US-backed forces (SDF) in rural Deir Ezzor, targeting several areas east of the Euphrates River.
ISIS militants took control over the large Al-Sayjan Oil Field, as pro-opposition activists allege that following the withdrawal of the US-backed forces.
At the same time, SDF took control of Al-Azraq and Abu Shawarib oil fields as ISIS retreated from there.
