Syrian Army units scored, today, a substantial advance in the eastern and southern outskirts of Douma in Eastern Ghouta.
According to a military source, the government troops managed to infiltrate 1 km into al-Rayhan farmland in east Doma amid intensifying battles near al-Farabi School where the Army tanks – backed up by artillery and rocket shelling – keep on advancing.
Meanwhile, dozens of airstrikes have been conducted since early morning, targeting rebel positions in and around Douma.
In a related context, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that Jaysh al-Islam militants have rebelled against and eventually ousted their leaders who were engaged in talks with Russia recently to conclude an evacuation deal with the Syrian government.
