Following 48 hours of fighting with the terror groups, The Syrian Army managed to liberate the key town of Al-Shifouniyah from Eastern Ghouta militants on Sunday afternoon.
Al-Shifouniyah is considered as the second largest militants stronghold after Beit Naesm town that was captured 2 days ago.
With liberating Al-Shifouniyah, the elite troops of the Tiger Forces are now in a position to surround the town of Ar-Raihan from the south and advance towards Masraba town and split the East Ghouta pocket into two.
Worth-mentioning that the preliminary observations of the ongoing clashes indicate that the Syrian Army intends to split the eastern Ghouta area thus could facilitate the Army advancement.
