Turkish Warplane Crashes, Killing Both Pilots

The reported incident in Turkey’s Izmir province comes as Ankara is carrying out its Olive Branch campaign against Kurdish forces in Syria, whom it considers terrorists.
 
Both pilots died after a training aircraft crashed at an air force base in the district of Cigli in Izmir province, the Turkish army reported via Twitter.
According to the DHA agency, the plane crashed immediately after take-off. An investigation into the incident is underway.
An aircraft which took off from Cigli/Izmir 2nd main air force base crashed during a training flight on February 16, 2018. Two heroes were killed.
The crash occurred around 11:00 a.m. Emergency services and rescue workers arrived immediately at the scene. The aircraft wreckage was found 3 km from the air base.
The causes of the incident have not yet been established.
