Rebels expel HTS militants from key city in central Syria [Video]

Al-Qaeda-linked fighters were kicked out from al-Rastan; a major city in north Homs countryside by rival opposition fighters as tensions between the two anti-government factions unexpectedly escalated in recent days.
According to local sources, the conflict took a decisive turn after Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham group killed one of the city’s dignitaries commissioned to negotiate with the Syrian government and Russian reconciliation center.
Following the incident, opposition militants took the streets, forcing the HTS militants out of the city. Reports had it that FSA-affiliated factions in al-Rastan have agreed on the terms of reconciliation stipulated by the Syrian government.
Russia has given al-Rastan rebels a 48 deadline to accept the reconciliation or facing a full-scale offensive by the government troops.
