Assyrian militia join Kurdish YPG to fight Turkish-led forces in Syria's Afrin

Assyrian militia that operating in northern Syria announces they will join Kurdish YPG to fight Turkish-led forces in Syria’s Afrin.

“#Syriac Military Council, MFS will send fighters to the #Afrin front in support of SDF-YPG/J to the defense of the region and populations against Turkey & allied forces,” they announced on their Twitter earlier today.

The Syriac Military Council were established in January 2013 to protect the Assyrian minority in Syria and has been aligned to the YPG ever since.

Similarly, foreign YPG fighters have recently arrived in Afrin region to fight against Turkish-led forces.
