VIDEO: Putin praises prominent Syrian general for his heroics on the battlefield

Vladimir Putin announced that Russia will begin the withdrawal of “a significant part of the Russian troop contingent located in Syria” during a surprise visit to the Khmeimim Air Base, in Syria’s Latakia province, Monday.

During his trip to Lattakia, President Putin met the Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad, the Chief of the General Staff of the Syrian Army and the head of the ‘Tiger Forces’ General Suheil Al-Hassan.

Video footage was released earlier – online – features president Putin praising Gen. Suheil for his successful operations that led to liberate large areas in Deir Ezzor province.
