Map update: Syrian forces launch the final battle against ISIS in Deir Ezzor desert

The Syrian troops, allied forces began the latest battle against the death-cult terror group of the Islamic state in the besieged enclave of the far east of Syria.

The combat troops also managed to advance – yesterday – 18 km from their positions near the vital T2 pumping station northward as the controlled area approximately 2000 km².

In the meanwhile, the Syrian ground troops are besieging the terrorists of ISIS in an uninhabited area estimated as 5500 km² stretching from Sokhna in the eastern Homs countryside to the outskirts of Al-Bukamal (please check out the map).

Worth-mentioning that the Russian aviation supports the military campaign of the Syrian army and its allies by deploying Russian bombers and naval barges.
