ISIS attack on US-base in Southern Syria repelled – Rebels media

On Wednesday, the jihadists of the ultraconservative group launched a multiple attacks on the deconfliction zone near At Tanf in southern Syria, pro opposition media said.

According to Jaysh Maghawir al-Thawra statement – The mainly supported by the United States – “We have foiled intense Islamic state offensive, killing 14 as ten wounded, and that 17 ISIS members – including five foreign fighters – were captured. Three ISIS vehicles were destroyed. ”

The U.S. and the UK had since 2016 operated and manned a training facility at al-Tanf (the “Al Tanf Garrison”), with their Special Forces advising a Syrian rebel group known as the Revolutionary Commando Army.
