(VIDEO) Russian Strategic Bombers Hit Daesh Strongholds Near Syria’s Al-Bukamal

“On November 17, six Tu-22M3 strategic bombers, which took off from an airfield in Russia, having flown over Iran and Iraq, carried out a group airstrike on Islamic State [ISIS, Daesh, banned in Russia] facilities near the city of Abu Kamal,” the Russian Defense Ministry has announced.

The strikes hit terrorists’ strongholds, a number of militants and some armored vehicles with means of reconnaissance confirming the targets’ destruction

Russian aicraft have been carrying out airstrikes in the area for the second day in a row following last week’s liberation of the town Abu Kamal, which had been the last Daesh stronghold in the war-torn country, by the Syrian army.
