Map update: Syrian Army resumes battle for Abu al-Duhur airbase in Idlib, gains new ground

The government troops – backed by allied forces – continue its missions in the southern countryside of Aleppo, aiming to advance west, towards the years-lasting airbase of Abu al-Duhur.

Propelled by Russian and Syrian air-power, the ground troops managed – Wednesday – to capture ‘Ubaisan’, ‘Rasm Alkhala’ and ‘Aziziyah’ hamlets in the southern countryside of Aleppo, located 10 km west of Aleppo – Hama highway.

With this advancement, the Syrian troops are now only 20 km away from the strategic airbase of Abu al-Duhur in Idlib countryside.

To the west of Khanasser area, The Army has also secured more villages of ‘Hujrat Kabirah’, ‘Hujrat Saghirah’ and ‘Rashadiyah’, imposing fire-control over ‘Ramlah’,’Saiyalah’ and ‘Rasm Saiyalah’ hamlets.

On November 5th, The Syrian Forces Initiated new military operation towards Idlib countryside, combating the extremist group of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS).
