Map update: Syrian Army inches closer to major Alqaeda stronghold in Hama

The government troops continue its military campaign against the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham terrorists (formally Al-Nusra front) in the northeastern countryside of Hama province.

With the backing of the allied forces, the army managed to kick the HTS out from ‘Al-Jackousiyah’ village after heavy fighting, on Friday, field source said.

The army puts its feet within 1500 meters from main HTS bastion of Al-Rahajan town that was snatched from the government in August 2014.

Few days ago, the Syrian forces took control over ‘Rasm Al-Sawi, Rasm Al-Ahmar and Mushairfat Adwan’ located 6 km to the north of the government-held of Al-Shikh Helal town, providing more security for the vital Hama-Aleppo highway.
