Humanitarian convoy relieves direly-besieged Eastern Ghouta .

On Tuesday, a humanitarian convoy made of 9 trucks belonging to the United Nations and Syrian Red Crescent made its way to the besieged Eastern Ghouta east of Damascus.

The convoy contained much-needed medical and nutrition supplies. Very notably, the convoy made its way to the Jaish al-Islam dominated portion of Eastern Ghouta where the ceasefire still holds strong as opposed to the Faylaq al-Rahman and Ahrar al-Sham controlled parts of East Ghouta where intense battles have been ongoing in Jobar and Harasta.

In return, it is expected that Jaish al-Islam will release prisoners as part of the ceasefire deal between Damascus and the rebel group
