BREAKING: ISIS releases video showing two Russian servicemen captured in Syria

The Islamic State has just released video footage showcasing two Russian soldiers who had been purportedly captured earlier in eastern Syria.

According to the footage, the Russian servicemen were captured alive when ISIS militants counter-attacked al-Sholla; a town located along the Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor highway last week.

Al-Sholla was re-taken by the Syrian forces with support from Russian Air Force as part of a wider offensive to restore the eastern city of Deir Ezzor.

However, a surprise offensive launched by the terror group on the town has killed and wounded scores of Syrian Army troops.

The internationally-designated terror group claimed that it had captured two Russian servicemen. Later on, the Russian Ministry of Defense categorically denied the claim.
