BREAKING: Kurds launch new operation towards Iraqi borders

According to the Deir Ezzor Military Council Commander Ahmad Abu Khawla who has said – in a statement released online –  that they have launched an operation to “liberate” the strategic region near the Iraqi border, from the Islamic state.

The Deir Ezzor commander Khawla stated that they have launched an operation few hours ago to liberate the “Siwer” region which is located near the Iraqi border and some 50 km to Deir Ezzor city. Several villages in this region are under ISIS occupation.

Elsewhere in the same province, the Syrian Army just made new gains against ISIS, liberating multiple villages, 45 km to the northwest the eastern city of Deir Ezzor.
