Syrian Army, allies repel ISIS attack near Iraqi borders [+ Video]

A massive attack launched by the Islamic State near the Syria-Iraq borders has been entirely foiled by the Syrian Army and allied forces.

Intense clashes broke out when a number of machinegun-fitted vehicles attacked a garrison for the government forces in Sad al-Waer near the Iraqi borders.

However, the defending forces were well-prepared for the assault; thanks for the drones that have been tracking the militants’ vehicles across the desert.

With ATGMs and heavy machineguns, the government troops succeeded in thwarting the assault; killing most of the attackers and destroying a number of their vehicles.
