Russia's air force puts new military satellite into space

The Russian Aerospace Forces have successfully launched a new military satellite into space in the last 24 hours.
According to official Russian defense and diplomatic sources, the military satellite – designated as Kosmos-2539 – was launched from the Baikonur spaceport in Kazakhstan at 00:56 Hours (Moscow Time) and has since settled into a stable and predictable orbit under the control of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
The satellite type is a Blagovest No. 14L, a new generation of military communication satellite of which another three have been put into orbit in recent years.
This fourth placing of a Blagovest No. 14L in space is stated by Russian sources to be the last for the foreseeable future with no requirement for additional satellites of its kind currently being needed.

As with most modern tactical satellite designs, Blagovest No. 14L will likely serve as both a standard military communications relay device and as an assistance medium for Russian GPS-guided munitions.
