Armed units of the Palestinian Hamas group have claimed responsibility for the downing of an Israeli military drone over Gaza on Tuesday afternoon.
The Israeli military drone in question was loitering over the Rafah area of southern Gaza when its remote operators lost contact with it.
According to an official statement by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, their forces downed the unmanned aircraft just after 1:00 P.M.
How exactly the drone was brought down remains unknown - be it with weapons fire or some kind of electronic jamming (highly unlikely); there also exists the possibility the drone just crashed and Hamas is claiming that it was downed.

The IDF has confirmed the drone's fall over southern Gaza.
