Video footage has been released by the Sputnik News group showing Syrian Army forces engaging jihadist positions in the northern countryside of Lattakia province with an array of heavy weapons.
In the video (shown below), Syrian Army fire support units can be observed engaging insurgent positions and movements using field guns and truck-mounted 57-mm auto-cannons.

The fighting witnessed is typical of this front; most clashes are conducted at stand-off ranges using anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), field guns, tanks, mortars, large-caliber machine guns and auto-cannons.
Forces opposing the Syrian Army on the northern Lattakia front, particularly around the town of Kabani, include hard-line jihadist faction Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP), both of which have links to Al-Qaeda.
These groups also possess medium and heavy weapons and a Syrian Army fire support unit that engages a target risks having fire returned, meaning that government heavy weapon teams need to remain mobile and move between different firing positions.
