Watch : US Military Surveillance balloon downed in Eastern Syria

Local sources reported that a US military survaillance balloon was shot down by unidentified person over the US base in Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour province.

Videos posted to social networks showed the balloon falling from the sky where the U.S. maintains a base .

American fighter jets were reportedly spotted flying over the area at the time of the incident.
